Per nbcsportsedge.com, the Texas Rangers have decided Frazier will not make their team. Despite being a non-roster invitee, he has posted a .244/.311/.463 slash line with two home runs in 41 spring at-bats while contending for a backup role.

Frazier, on a minor league deal, cannot opt out until May 15 and will start the season with Triple-A Round Rock.

At 28, Frazier spent parts of five seasons with the Yankees from 2017-21, joining them through a June 2016 trade from the Cleveland Indians during his Double-A stint.

In 2019, Frazier’s best year with the Yankees, he hit .267 with 12 homers and 38 RBIs in 69 games, including 59 starts. He began 2020 as a regular but soon reverted to a platoon role.

Throughout his Yankees career, Frazier hit .239 with 29 home runs and 97 RBIs in 228 games.

The Yankees released Frazier on November 23, 2021, severing their ties with him.

On December 1, 2021, Frazier signed a one-year, $1.5 million contract with the Cubs. However, he struggled, batting .143 with no homers or RBIs in his first 10 games before being sidelined. He was on the injured list from April 20 to May 28.

Frazier was designated for assignment on June 10, just before a Cubs-Yankees series. He chose to stay with the Cubs’ organization as a non-roster Triple-A player, bypassing free agency on June 17.
