Despite WWE’s abundant talent on the “WWE Raw” roster, Konnan has expressed particular concern about the current booking of Jey Uso, a multi-time WWE tag team champion who remains a fan favorite.
On his “Keepin’ It 100” podcast, Konnan voiced his frustration with how WWE has utilized Uso in recent months. “It’s puzzling to see that, despite his popularity, WWE hasn’t given him any storylines or roles lately,” he remarked. “I suspect they’re waiting for Roman Reigns to return, which might reinvigorate Uso’s position and storyline.”
Reigns last appeared on WWE television on August 9 during “SmackDown,” where he attacked The Bloodline after being challenged by Solo Sikoa, the current “Tribal Chief.” Prior to that, Reigns had reemerged at WWE SummerSlam to ensure Sikoa did not take the Undisputed WWE Championship from Cody Rhodes.
Although Jey Uso has recently been involved in assisting Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley against Judgment Day and has also earned a spot as the No.1 Contender for the Intercontinental Championship, Konnan reiterated his confusion over the lack of substantial storylines for Uso. He pointed out that despite high merchandise sales, Uso’s current role seems minimal.
Konnan added, “The most they do with him is have him make dramatic entrances through the crowd, with the lights dimmed and fans using their phones. He’s not involved in any major feuds or chasing titles.”
