AEW Mulls Over the Idea of Launching a Proprietary Streaming Service

AEW Launching Streaming Platform (AEW)

AEW might introduce a new streaming service that could challenge the WWE Network’s dominance if current plans come to fruition. Since its inception in 2019, AEW has amassed a vast library of content and, following the acquisition of Ring of Honor, holds the distribution rights to the 2018 ‘ALL IN’ event.

According to Bloomberg, the promotion is contemplating the launch of its own streaming platform, based on information from a source “familiar with management’s thinking.”

This potential streaming service is expected to be developed with the support of AEW’s distribution partner, Warner Bros. Discovery. This isn’t the first instance of such plans; in October 2021, AEW President Tony Khan mentioned negotiations with HBO Max for a streaming deal, but nothing materialized at that time.
