Eddie Kingston continues to balance his All Elite Wrestling commitments with a robust schedule of independent wrestling shows on weekends.
During a wrestling-focused episode of Marc Maron’s “WTF,” Kingston explained his motivation for participating in indie promotions and revealed that he often donates a substantial portion of his earnings to charity.
“I enjoy doing indie shows,” Kingston remarked. “They’ve kept me sane over the years. … I frequently ask the promoters to take half of my payment and donate it to a local charity, but they usually end up announcing it.
I prefer it to be kept quiet.” Kingston considers these contributions a way to give back after spending much of his career on the independent circuit.
In the past year, Kingston has remained active across various promotions nationwide, including House of Glory, Beyond Wrestling, DEFY, and Glory Pro. In addition to his indie work and AEW commitments, Kingston has also competed for New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
He faced Tomohiro Ishii and teamed with Kazuchika Okada against Bullet Club’s Jay White and Juice Robinson in October. Following months of intense rivalry, Kingston is scheduled to face White in a singles match at NJPW Battle in the Valley on February 18.
