LeBron James made history on Sunday by becoming only the second player in NBA history to surpass 38,000 career points, inching closer to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s legendary record.

He achieved this milestone with a smooth mid-range jumper early in the game, at the end scoring 35 points in a closely contested matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Philadelphia 76ers.

Despite reaching this impressive personal milestone, the 38-year-old star expressed frustration after the Lakers narrowly lost 113-112, marking their third consecutive defeat.

“It’s just frustrating, being in those situations and not being able to come away with a win,” James shared with reporters post-game.VJoel Embiid led the charge for the 76ers with 35 points and 11 rebounds, while James Harden contributed 24 points and 13 assists to secure the victory.

The Lakers were left disappointed by a non-call late in the game, as Russell Westbrook claimed Embiid had interfered with his shot attempt by holding his arm.

Westbrook explained, “[I was] trying to attack, trying to get to the basket. It’s unfortunate he grabbed my wrist. I couldn’t get the ball up. It’s all good, we’ll review it tonight or tomorrow.”

Looking ahead, the Lakers aim to break their losing streak when they face the Houston Rockets on Monday, while the 76ers, who have won four of their last five games, prepare to take on the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday.
