“He felt it in the side on the checked swing, so he’s getting tested today,” Boone said, gesturing to his mid-left side. “It was enough to put him on the IL right away, at least. We’ll hopefully have an idea of exactly what we’ve got by tonight or tomorrow.”
The 21-year-old Domínguez has been on a journey to recovery after undergoing Tommy John surgery on his right elbow last September. He completed a successful rehab assignment and was optioned to Triple-A on June 12, awaiting a chance to rejoin the Yankees.
