Je’von Evans Comments on Randy Orton’s Match at WWE NXT’s CW Debut

Having been with WWE for less than a year, Je’Von Evans has already established himself as a contender in “NXT,” even making strides toward the NXT Championship. On October 8 in St. Louis, Missouri, he will face the biggest challenge of his career when he goes up against former WWE Champion Randy Orton, a St. Louis native and one of Evans’ two dream opponents, during the second episode of “NXT” on The CW.

Following the announcement of their match on “NXT,” Orton and Evans engaged in a brief exchange on X. After Orton confirmed he would see Evans in St. Louis, the 20-year-old expressed his admiration for Orton while asserting, “A legend isn’t a legend without getting took off the top.” He then echoed Orton’s sentiments, stating he would see him “on the 8th.”

The stakes are particularly high for Evans, as he will be facing an Orton who recently competed in one of the year’s most remarkable matches. Orton challenged GUNTHER for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Bash in Berlin at the end of August.

Although he fell short, Orton pushed GUNTHER to his limits in a nearly 35-minute battle, marking GUNTHER’s first title defense after claiming the championship from Damian Priest at SummerSlam.

While Evans secured a win last night, teaming with Cedric Alexander to defeat Myles Borne and Tavion Heights, his performance over the past few months has been inconsistent.

In his last five televised matches, he holds a record of just 2-3, including singles losses to Joe Coffey and Charlie Dempsey, although he did manage to avenge the defeat against Coffey in a rematch.
