Karrion Kross Rejects Divergent Vision for WWE’s Final Testament

In 2024, Karrion Kross has gained momentum in WWE as the head of The Final Testament. While the faction embodies an apocalyptic vibe that fits their name, Kross shared on “Insight with Chris Van Vliet” that the initial concept for The Final Testament was quite different from what fans see today.

“We meet at the Performance Center and we start shooting these cryptic vignettes,” Kross elaborated. He likened their original vision to a scene from “Iron Man 3” featuring The Mandarin, where Ben Kingsley’s character was surrounded by screens. “These propaganda videos, you know? It was really cool. I loved the setup. Initially, the direction we were going in was almost like a militia occult group,” he noted.

Despite the intriguing concept, Kross expressed concerns about not wanting his character to resemble existing archetypes in professional wrestling. He aimed to provide the audience with a fresh perspective, which he believes he is achieving through references to his opponents’ histories.

Beyond the initial vision for The Final Testament, Kross also mentioned that there had been discussions about transforming his character into a mixed martial artist. While he felt confident in adapting to that persona, he noted it would require longer match formats, which are not feasible in WWE programming.

“All of us can do all of that stuff, but we thought leaning more into the character direction rather than that would be a better thing to do,” Kross remarked. “I wish we had 20 or 30 minutes. I would have walked down to Ken Shamrock’s music. Give me the whole thing!”

Since taking charge of The Final Testament, Kross has primarily focused on psychological warfare rather than competing in the ring. He has opted to let the other faction members handle the physical confrontations while he orchestrates the mind games.
