Cody Rhodes, the Undisputed WWE Champion, has played a remarkable role in the ongoing Bloodline saga, which dates back even further, beginning with former champion Roman Reigns’ alliance with WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman in August 2020.
Heyman took on the role of Reigns’ “Wise Man” on-screen while also contributing behind the scenes by assisting with the creative direction of Bloodline storylines.
In a recent interview with Fox57, Rhodes expressed admiration for Heyman, describing him as a “fascinating, unique individual” who intuitively understands audience desires, often before they realize them. He referred to Heyman as the “super genius” behind the Bloodline narrative.
Rhodes noted, “From a behind-the-scenes perspective, once everything is evaluated and people reflect on the remarkable journey of this storyline over the years, particularly its impact on WWE and its business, Paul Heyman should be regarded as the Martin Scorsese of this entire operation.”
Although Reigns made his return at SummerSlam, Heyman has not been seen on WWE television since being ousted from the Bloodline for refusing to acknowledge its new leader, Solo Sikoa. Heyman clarified that his absence is not simply for the sake of being on air; he wants his return to have purpose.
He stated that when he does return to television, it will be to set up a year’s worth of storyline and that he will come back only when he can genuinely contribute to Reigns’ narrative within the new Bloodline. Recently, on “WWE SmackDown,” Sikoa, along with Jacob Fatu, Tonga Loa, and Tama Tonga, attacked “The Original Tribal Chief.”
