Stephanie McMahon has officially resigned from her roles as CEO and Chairwoman of WWE. Just days after Vince McMahon made his return to WWE’s Board of Directors, Stephanie decided to step down as the company’s co-CEO.
She announced her resignation on Twitter, reflecting on her role alongside Nick Khan since her return last year and noting it as a “privilege.”
With her father back in charge, alongside Khan and Paul “Triple H” Levesque, Stephanie believes WWE is well-positioned to provide “unparalleled creative content and drive maximum value for shareholders.”
Stephanie’s departure follows her earlier leave of absence, which was taken before Vince’s exit despite scandals involving sexual misconduct and hush money.
This resignation appears to be more permanent, with Stephanie stating she will be “cheering on WWE from the other side of the business.”
WWE issued a press release including Vince McMahon’s comments on his daughter’s decision. “I fully support Stephanie’s personal decision,” Vince said.
“I am immensely grateful for her leadership during my absence and proud of the co-leading role she took on. Her impact on WWE has been profound.”
According to the press release, Nick Khan will continue as CEO. Vince praised Khan’s “business acumen and mastery of the media industry,” expressing eagerness to work with him as WWE explores “strategic alternatives” in this pivotal phase of the company’s evolution.
