Taya Valkyrie, who holds titles in three different promotions, made a surprise appearance on AEW Dynamite Wednesday night, confronting current AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill.
During the episode, Cargill successfully defended her TBS Championship against Nicole Matthews in a Canadian Open Challenge. After the match, Cargill questioned whether Canada had more challengers to offer, prompting Valkyrie to make her entrance.
Valkyrie immediately confronted Cargill, who, despite her undefeated status, retreated from the confrontation. Leila Grey attempted to attack Valkyrie but was quickly overpowered by the seasoned Canadian wrestler. Cargill tried to engage in a fight but was restrained by Mark Sterling and the referees.
After this dramatic moment, AEW President Tony Khan confirmed that Valkyrie has officially joined the company. Valkyrie currently holds the Impact Knockouts World Tag Team Championship, the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship, and the MLW Women’s Featherweight Championship.
