Former WWE host Matt Camp has proposed an intriguing scenario where Shane McMahon, Vince’s son, could join AEW as a decision-maker.
This comes after Shane reportedly reached out to AEW talent to discuss a potential appearance in Tony Khan’s promotion. Camp suggests that The Young Bucks could sell their share of the company to Shane as part of a storyline, giving him a stake in AEW.
Wrestling legend Jim Ross thinks this move would be “so crazy that it might work,” depending on how it’s executed. However, Ross notes that Shane’s success in AEW would depend on his goals and creative direction. “It’s so crazy that it might work, depending on how it was positioned and how it was introduced,” Ross said on his Grilling JR podcast.
“Shane called me the other day, he’s called me two or three times, which I really appreciate. He’s always been sensitive in that respect. That’s only a question that Shane could answer. Shane and Tony Khan being together, how would that work creatively, heck, who knows? Might be great. But in any event, that all depends on Shane and what he wants to do.”
Meanwhile, former WWE Superstar Matt Morgan has mocked the idea of Shane joining AEW, making it clear that opinions on this potential move are divided. As the rumors swirl, fans are eager to see if this scenario will play out. Shane’s last WWE appearance was at WrestleMania 39, where he suffered an injury during a match against The Miz.
His potential move to AEW would mark a remarkable shift in the professional wrestling landscape. With the wrestling world buzzing about this possible development, only time will tell if Shane McMahon will indeed join AEW and shake things up in the promotion.
