Savannah Guthrie, co-host of the NBC morning show Today, made an early exit from the program on Friday, April 26, after appearing in the first hour.
Hoda Kotb, her co-host, explained that Guthrie left to start her weekend early. This departure followed Guthrie’s absence on Monday, April 22, when she took a long weekend off.
During her absence, third-hour co-host Sheinelle Jones filled in for her.
Guthrie’s reason for her recent break wasn’t directly addressed on the show, but she hinted at it on Instagram by sharing photos of a family outing.
She posted pictures of her husband, Michael Feldman, and their son, Charley, at a Philadelphia 76ers NBA playoff game against the New York Knicks, expressing her enjoyment of the event.
Earlier in the week, Guthrie interacted with several children on Today. On Wednesday, April 24, she held the child of a Today producer, sharing sweet moments on Instagram.
The following day, Guthrie participated in Take Your Kids to Work Day, welcoming many of her colleagues’ children to the studio, although her children did not attend.
Recently, Guthrie and her son joined Today colleagues and their children to watch the total solar eclipse at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, an event she also shared on Instagram.
