Where is Drew McIntyre? Backstage News on His Absence Following WWE Bad Blood Loss

Drew McIntyre takes time off to recover and reconnect with family after WWE Bad Blood (WWE)

Details have emerged regarding Drew McIntyre’s situation following his absence from WWE television. “The Scottish Psychopath” has not appeared since his defeat to CM Punk in a Hell in a Cell match at WWE Bad Blood in October, after which Punk announced on the subsequent “WWE Raw” that he would be taking a break.

Reports later indicated that McIntyre suffered a legitimate head laceration requiring staples for closure, prompting him to take time off for recovery. According to Fightful Select, McIntyre has been spending this time visiting family in Europe. Just days before his match against Punk, McIntyre’s brother, John Galloway, announced the passing of their aunt on social media.

McIntyre’s year in WWE saw highs and lows, including a brief title reign at WrestleMania (WWE)

In a heartfelt post, Galloway expressed his gratitude for having two strong women in his life, sharing a photo of his late aunt alongside his late mother. McIntyre honored his mother, who passed away in 2012, by naming his sword Angela after her.

For McIntyre, this year has been important both inside WWE and in other pursuits. He briefly held the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania, although his reign lasted only minutes, and made his film debut alongside Dave Bautista in “The Killer’s Game,” which was released in theaters on September 13.

However, he has faced several narrative setbacks in WWE, beginning with his loss of the World Heavyweight title due to a costly encounter with Punk, which allowed Damian Priest to cash in his Money in the Bank contract.

Additionally, his rivalry with Punk hindered his chance to reclaim the title at Clash at the Castle in Glasgow, leading to a 2-1 record in their series of premium live events.
