The Suzuki Vitara has long been absent as a two-door convertible SUV, and it’s a surprising absence that many fans still lament. Come on, Suzuki—why not bring back this unique design as a cabrio?
What we’re discussing here is the newly launched Suzuki Vitara, officially dubbed the e-Vitara. This marks Suzuki’s inaugural foray into the realm of electric vehicles, complete with batteries and all the necessary features. As the automaker shifts its lineup, models like the Jimny, Swace, and Swift Sport have made way for this new electric offering.
With its solid and robust silhouette, the e-Vitara features pronounced wheel arches and numerous creases that give it a distinctive look, though its unusual light signature may leave some feeling perplexed. Perhaps it, too, dreams of being a convertible.
For battery options, buyers can choose between a 49kWh version with 2WD and a more powerful 61kWh option available in both 2WD and 4WD configurations.
The 49kWh battery drives a 106kW motor, while the larger battery offers outputs of either 128kW for 2WD or 135kW with a twin-motor setup for the 4WD model, which includes a special ‘Trail’ mode for off-road adventures.
