Midway through the third quarter, with star receiver A.J. Brown temporarily sidelined with a knee injury, Dotson’s moment arrived. Jalen Hurts launched a deep pass along the left sideline, where Dotson, closely guarded by Jaguars cornerback Tyson Campbell, adjusted to a precise back-shoulder throw and made a juggling 36-yard catch.
After the game, Dotson’s social media post reflected his excitement over the play. Dotson’s humility has made him a favorite among fans. Early-season buzz surrounded him when he took to practice wearing Brent Celek’s old No. 87.
Fans questioned the number choice until Dotson clarified with a tweet: “I hope y’all understand the number decision is out of my control … Just a guy happy to be here!” Now donning No. 83, Dotson recorded his first big play as an Eagle. Sunday’s game marked a positive step forward for Dotson, who has been patiently waiting for his chance to shine in a crowded Eagles offense.
