In recent days, Davante Adams of the Las Vegas Raiders has become a focal point in the NFL after being the first prominent player to request a trade this season. The buzz around this development has captured the attention of fans and media alike, who are eagerly speculating about his potential destinations.
According to insider Ian Rapoport from NFL Network, the New Orleans Saints have emerged as the “most aggressive team” in their efforts to acquire Adams, while the New York Jets remain at the top of his preference list.
Given Adams’ history with quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Derek Carr, it’s not surprising that the Saints and Jets are leading the chase. However, Rapoport also noted in his NFL.com article that the Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills are major contenders in the race for the star receiver.
Importantly, Rapoport mentioned that Adams is expected to fully recover from his hamstring injury by next week, indicating that it shouldn’t hinder any potential trade negotiations.
Over three games, Adams has recorded 18 receptions for 207 yards and one touchdown. He played all 17 games in each of his first two seasons with the Raiders, accumulating over 100 receptions and a total of 22 touchdowns in that span.
Although the Saints boast the league’s highest-scoring offense, they could benefit from adding another wide receiver to complement Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed. If they manage to secure Adams, it could provide them with a crucial advantage in their pursuit of the NFC South title.
