On Thursday night, the Dallas Cowboys secured a victory by defeating their long-time rivals, the New York Giants, with a score of 20-15. Since 2016, starting quarterback Dak Prescott has maintained an impressive record against the Giants, having never lost to them.
Fox Sports commentator and devoted Cowboys supporter Skip Bayless shared his insights on the game shortly after, expressing mixed feelings about the win. “The Giants had more yards than we had. The giants had more first-downs than we had…All I can say about this one is we won,” Bayless remarked in a video shared on social media.
His reaction reflects a sense of relief, as his team faced a challenge from one of the league’s struggling squads. Had the Cowboys faltered in this match, it would have triggered widespread panic in North Texas.
Bayless acknowledged that the game was far from aesthetically pleasing. Despite Dak Prescott’s solid performance (22 completions on 27 attempts for 221 yards and two touchdowns) and a strong showing from star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb (seven catches for 98 yards and one touchdown), the Giants controlled much of the game’s time of possession and excelled in nearly every key offensive statistic.
Nevertheless, New York struggled to convert those opportunities into points. Whenever they reached the red zone, the Dallas defense, led by coordinator Mike Zimmer, rose to the occasion.
The Giants failed to score any touchdowns, which finally allowed Mike McCarthy’s squad to narrowly secure the win. Now, the Cowboys will benefit from some much-needed time off as they prepare to face the unbeaten Pittsburgh Steelers.
