In recent weeks, “Big” Bronson Reed has made a serious impact, leaving a trail of destruction that includes remarkable names like Seth Rollins, R-Truth, The Miz, and Braun Strowman, all of whom have succumbed to his signature move, the Tsunami.
During a recent interview on “The Amin Show,” Reed discussed the possibility of targeting another prominent figure in the “WWE Raw” locker room, former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest.
“Maybe if he looks at me the wrong way backstage,” Reed quipped, adding that he has great respect for Priest. “He’s one of the guys I came up with in NXT. We wrestled together, and I was really proud to see him become World Heavyweight Champion because it validates our era of NXT having someone from our time reach that level.”
Reed noted the distinction between their generation and earlier stars like Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. “Now that [Priest] has done that, and with GUNTHER achieving the same, he represents our era as well, and I aspire to be in that position too. I’m sure you’ll eventually see Priest face Bronson in WWE, and when that happens, it will be magic.”
Meanwhile, Reed and Priest have faced each other in the ring eight times, including two battle royals. Additionally, both competed in the 2023 Men’s Elimination Chamber match, where the winner would earn the United States Championship. Eventually, the reigning champion at that time, Austin Theory, successfully defended his title.
Their rivalry began in “WWE NXT,” where they clashed during a series of live events in September 2019 before finally facing off on “NXT” television in August 2020. They also participated in a five-way ladder match that same month to determine a new NXT North American Champion.
