As the release of Netflix’s “Mr. McMahon” documentary on September 25 approaches, Janel Grant’s legal team has brought in a public relations specialist to manage the expected media inquiries about her allegations against Vince McMahon.
Grant, who has accused the former WWE Chairman of sexual assault, harassment, and trafficking during her time with the company, will be represented by Kendra Barkoff Lamy from the firm SKDK.
In a statement released on Wednesday, attorney Ann Callis emphasized SKDK’s extensive experience in supporting survivors of sexual violence and human trafficking. “We look forward to collaborating with them to seek justice for our client, Janel Grant,” she stated.
Lamy, who previously worked as a press secretary for President Joe Biden, has also advocated for victims of producer Harvey Weinstein and former employees of the NFL team once known as the Washington Redskins.
Following the announcement, Lamy took to X (formerly Twitter) to express her dedication to Grant’s cause, stating, “I’m honored to assist Janel Grant as she bravely seeks the justice she deserves against Vince McMahon and WWE.”
A virtual press conference featuring Lamy and Callis is scheduled for Thursday, during which they will provide insights into the abuse and harassment Grant alleges she faced from McMahon and John Laurinaitis, the former Head of Talent Relations at WWE.
Earlier this year, a stay was granted in Grant’s case as federal authorities continue their investigation into her claims. Recently, she filed a motion to access medical records related to herself and McMahon’s physician during her employment.
