Academy Award-winning actress Susan Sarandon, esteemed actor William H. Macy, and talented actress Marcia Cross are set to star in the upcoming indie film “Exit Right,” directed by veteran documentary filmmaker Thomas A. Morgan. This marks Morgan’s narrative debut, and he will also serve as the scriptwriter.
The film tells the story of Jan Randall (Sarandon), a strong-willed and adventurous woman diagnosed with inoperable cancer. Determined to live her final days on her own terms, she moves into a tent in her backyard, refusing medication that would confine her to a hospital bed.
Her loving husband John (Macy) takes her on a remarkable journey around the world – on foot, in their own hometown – a trip that becomes the adventure of a lifetime.
Marcia Cross plays Monica Freeman, Jan’s estranged sister, who is determined to secure modern medicine’s comforts for her sister, despite their contentious relationship. Ed Glauser will produce the film, with Sarandon and Macy serving as executive producers alongside Garrick Street Productions’ Lawrence Aldridge and Michael Shyjka.
Morgan shared his personal connection to the story, stating, “This film explores themes of aging, love, family, and community, and I’m fulfilled to bring it to the world.” Sarandon, Macy, and Cross bring their exceptional talents to this poignant and inspiring story, making “Exit Right” a highly anticipated film.
