The story follows Prince Adam, also known as He-Man, who crash-lands on Earth as a child and returns to his home planet to defend it from the evil Skeletor. To defeat Skeletor, He-Man must uncover the secrets of his past and become the powerful hero he is destined to be.

Galitzine’s casting continues his partnership with Amazon MGM Studios, following his roles in “The Idea of You” and “Red, White & Royal Blue.” He has also appeared in “Cinderella” and “Purple Hearts” for Amazon and Netflix, respectively.

The actor is represented by the UK’s Curtis Brown Group, WME, Anonymous Content, The Lede Company, and Gang, Tyre, Ramer, and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.

“We’re thrilled to bring the beloved ‘Masters of the Universe’ to life and couldn’t be more excited to announce the immensely talented Nicholas Galitzine as our He-Man,” said Julie Rapaport, head of film production and development at Amazon MGM Studios. “This reintroduction of the character and his universe will be an epic film that will delight audiences from here to Eternia.”

The film is one of 15 live-action motion pictures in development at Mattel Films, including “Barney,” “Bob the Builder,” “Uno,” and “Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots.”

Mattel’s first and only film to date is the billion-dollar blockbuster “Barbie” for Warner Bros. With Galitzine on board, “Masters of the Universe” is poised to become another successful adaptation of a beloved franchise.
