Tevva Collaborates with Ecobat for First-Life Battery Management

Tevva and Ecobat Unite in Strategic Alliance (Tevva)

British electric vehicle manufacturer Tevva has formed a strategic partnership with Ecobat, a global leader in battery recycling, to manage, repurpose, and recycle its lithium-ion batteries. The collaboration begins with a 12-month pilot phase focused on first-life battery management, with potential expansion into further energy storage and recycling solutions.

Ecobat will ensure that Tevva’s in-house assembled lithium-ion batteries are handled, diagnosed, and repaired using the most effective and eco-friendly methods if issues arise during the vehicle’s lifecycle.

First-Life Battery Management Takes Center Stage (Tevva)

Tevva is dedicated to circular economy principles, aiming for zero waste and cost reduction in managing the most expensive component of its electric trucks—the lithium-ion batteries.

By partnering with global battery experts Ecobat, Tevva showcases its commitment to providing customers with optimal and swift service while minimizing environmental impact.

Tevva’s 7.5-ton battery-electric truck recently began mass production at its London facility. This truck offers up to 140 miles (227 kilometers) on a single charge with its 105 kWh battery, making it ideal for last-mile and urban deliveries.

Following this, Tevva will introduce a 7.5-ton hydrogen-electric truck featuring a hydrogen range-extender, which extends the vehicle’s range to 354 miles (570 kilometers).
