The HOLON mover is an autonomous vehicle designed for various on-demand services such as ride pooling, ride-hailing, and scheduled transport. It operates at a maximum speed of 60 km/h (37 mph) and boasts a range of approximately 290 kilometers (180 miles).
The vehicle’s first pilot project will launch in Germany with Hamburg’s Hochbahn, the second-largest mass transit company in the country. In the U.S., mobility provider Beep will implement the initial vehicles. The HOLON mover is also intended for use in private institutions like campuses, airports, and national parks.
Design and Inclusivity
The HOLON mover features an eye-catching asymmetrical design that prioritizes functionality and high recognition value. It accommodates up to 15 passengers, bridging the gap between personal and public transportation.
The seating arrangement ensures comfort and privacy while adhering to safety standards. HOLON is committed to inclusive mobility, designing the vehicle to be accessible to all.
Standard features include electric double-wing doors with photo-electric sensors, an automatically extending ramp with a lowering function, and automatic wheelchair securing systems. Additionally, the vehicle offers Braille information and an audiovisual guide to assist visually impaired passengers.
Autonomous, Digital, and Sustainable
The HOLON mover operates at SAE Level 4 autonomy, utilizing the Mobileye Drive™ system. Johann Jungwirth, Senior Vice President of Autonomous Vehicles at Mobileye, notes, “Our autonomous driving system is designed to make groundbreaking mobility concepts possible – like the HOLON mover.”
The vehicle’s advanced sensing system, innovative mapping technology, and formal driving policy model ensure robust and scalable autonomous operation.
Sustainability is a core element of the HOLON brand, with the mover being entirely electric. Over-the-air updates maintain the vehicle’s software, eliminating the need for workshop visits. The development process emphasizes sustainable materials.
Strategic Partnerships and Future Production
Key partners in the development of the HOLON mover include Pininfarina, Mobileye, and Cognizant Mobility. Beep is HOLON’s primary partner in the U.S., providing comprehensive services and a technology platform for service management and user experience.
Production of the HOLON mover is set to begin in the U.S. by the end of 2025, with additional production facilities planned for Europe and the Middle East/Asia. The vehicle’s flexible platform architecture allows for quick adaptation to various market needs, including passenger transport and last-mile cargo delivery.
