Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin shared on Sunday that he would be supporting his team from home as they kick off their playoff journey against the Miami Dolphins in Orchard Park, New York.
In a heartfelt tweet, Hamlin expressed his solidarity with his teammates despite his recovery, stating, “My heart is with my guys as they compete today! Supporting from home as I focus on my recovery. There is nothing I want more than to be out there with them! LFG #BillsMafia”
His announcement follows reports from ESPN and the Associated Press that he had visited the Bills’ facility in Orchard Park the previous day.
The touching moment was also acknowledged by Brooke Kromer, daughter of Bills offensive line coach Aaron Kromer, who tweeted about seeing Hamlin at practice, sharing, “I saw Damar today & bawled my eyes out! What a miracle to see him walking. We are blessed! More prayers are needed! It was a beautiful moment for the guys!”
A photo posted on Instagram by Bills linebacker Matt Milano captured Hamlin smiling as he greeted someone off-camera, reflecting a positive moment despite his recovery. Currently, neither Hamlin’s representatives nor the Bills have responded to CNN’s request for comment regarding his health status.
The 24-year-old recently left Buffalo General Medical Center after being hospitalized for over a week following an on-field cardiac arrest during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals on January 2.
Initially treated in Cincinnati, Hamlin’s improved condition allowed him to be transferred to the Buffalo facility on Monday. Despite his absence from the field, the Bills are set to face the Miami Dolphins in the NFL Wild Card round on Sunday.
