John Goodman sustained a hip injury while filming Alejandro González Iñárritu’s latest project, starring Tom Cruise, which has caused a delay in Warner Bros.’ production in the U.K.
“Actor John Goodman experienced a hip injury,” a Warner Bros. spokesperson stated.
“He received immediate medical attention that led to a brief delay in shooting to allow him time to recover. The production resumes shooting next week following John’s full recovery.”
In October, it is exclusively reported that production for Iñárritu’s untitled film was set to begin in the U.K. in November.
The film marks Iñárritu’s first English-language project since 2016’s The Revenant, which won Leonardo DiCaprio his first Academy Award.

In addition to directing, Iñárritu also serves as a producer and co-wrote the script with Sabina Berman and Birdman co-writers Nicolás Giacobone and Alexander Dinelaris. Plot details remain under wraps.

The film is also Cruise’s first project since signing a development and production deal with Warner Bros. in January 2024. His last collaboration with the studio was 2014’s Edge of Tomorrow, the time-travel sci-fi thriller, which was released over a decade ago.
