Princess Charlotte joined her mother, Princess Kate Middleton, father Prince William, and brother Prince George at Wimbledon on July 13 to watch the men’s singles final between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. The family appeared relaxed and cheerful as they took in the match from the prestigious Royal Box at Centre Court. It marked yet another public family outing, showcasing the young royals’ growing presence at major events.
Royals Brave Wimbledon Heat in Style, Charlotte Fans Kate in Sweet Moment
With temperatures soaring to 81 degrees, the royal family came well-prepared for the summer heat. A particularly endearing moment was captured when 10-year-old Princess Charlotte used a handheld fan to cool down her mother. Photographer Karwai Tang, who captured the moment, described it as a “lovely interaction,” noting that while Kate smiled at her daughter’s effort, she gently asked Charlotte to stop after a few moments.

Despite the hot weather, the royals adhered to the Royal Box’s formal dress code. Prince William and Prince George wore suits and ties, while Princess Kate arrived with a sun hat, using it intermittently for shade. Although hats are usually discouraged in the Royal Box to avoid blocking views, they were permitted on this particularly warm day. Even the Royal Wimbledon colors—green and purple—were incorporated into the provided hats.
Royal Kids Enjoy Wimbledon Privileges, Louis Receives Heartfelt Gift from Siblings
While the Royal Box typically limits access for children due to its small size of just 74 seats, exceptions are made for royal children. Both Princess Charlotte and Prince George have now attended Wimbledon three times, a rare privilege for kids. However, their younger brother, Prince Louis, has yet to attend. This appearance reinforces how the royal children are gradually being introduced to public life and royal responsibilities.
Even though Prince Louis missed the match, his siblings made sure he wasn’t left out. After Sinner’s victory, he signed tennis balls for both George and Charlotte—plus a third one specifically for Louis. Kate informed the athlete about the gesture, and William joked, “Louis would be very upset otherwise.” The thoughtful act added a sweet family touch to the day’s royal outing.
