Fans anticipating a full-fledged Black Sabbath reunion at Ozzy Osbourne’s farewell concert might need to adjust their expectations, as the legendary metal frontman has clarified that he won’t be performing a complete set with the band.
Osbourne made the revelation during his Ozzy Speaks program on SiriusXM’s Ozzy’s Boneyard, where he shared an update on his plans for the recently announced Back to the Beginning concert.
Billed as “the final show” in its promotional artwork, the event’s lineup includes Black Sabbath and Osbourne alongside major rock and metal acts such as Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax. Additional notable performers include Pantera, Lamb of God, Mastodon, Alice in Chains, Halestorm, and recent Grammy winners Gojira.
“I’m not planning on doing a full set with Black Sabbath, but I’ll be doing bits and pieces with them,” Osbourne explained. “I’ll contribute where I feel comfortable.”
The singer hasn’t performed a full set since December 31, 2018, when he wrapped up the final date of his No More Tours tour. Just two months later, he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, leading to a series of cancellations and complications that have impacted any plans for large-scale performances.
“I’m working on getting back on my feet,” Osbourne added. “Most people just jump out of bed in the morning, but I have to find my balance. Still, I’m not dead—I’m still doing things.”

Osbourne’s comments align with a previous update he provided earlier this month, in which he reassured fans that, despite his health struggles, he continues pushing forward.
“I made it to 2025. I can’t walk, but you know what I realized over the holidays? For all my complaints, I’m still alive,” he reflected. “I might moan about not being able to walk, but then I look around and see people who didn’t get to do half of what I did—and they’re not here anymore.”
Following the announcement of the July concert, Osbourne’s wife and manager, Sharon, spoke to the BBC about the significance of the show, explaining that it presents an opportunity for him to close out his career properly after years of setbacks and canceled performances.
“He’s doing really great,” she shared. “He’s thrilled about this, about being back with the guys and all his friends. It’s exciting for everyone.”
“Ozzy never got the chance to say a proper goodbye to his fans and friends. He feels there hasn’t been a definitive ending—this will be his full stop.”
