Liam Payne’s girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, became emotional as she shared her final memories with the late One Direction alum before his passing in Argentina last year.
In a tearful TikTok video, the influencer documented herself cleaning out boxes when she came across a yellow gown she had worn to a wedding with Payne in Paris the previous year.
“This dress actually brings me so much peace and comfort,” she shared on Thursday, explaining that it holds a cherished “memory” she will “never forget.”
“We went to this beautiful wedding,” Cassidy, 25, continued. “It was my very first wedding I’ve ever attended. We just had the best time.”
She then pulled out a pair of distressed Christian Louboutin pumps from another box—shoes she had worn with the yellow dress.
The internet personality explained that the heels “were practically almost new” before the event but became worn out as she and Payne “danced the night away” and explored the venue.
“I remember the next morning, I woke up and I said to Liam, ‘Oh my god, look at these shoes, they’re so ruined. I don’t know what to do with them,’” Cassidy recalled.

“I just can’t even believe I didn’t throw these out, and I’m so glad [I didn’t]. This memory is embedded in these shoes.”
Cassidy and Payne had traveled to France for the wedding in September 2024, just one month before his tragic passing in Argentina at the age of 31.
The “Night Changes” singer passed away in October 2024 after falling from the balcony of his hotel room.
A police investigation later revealed that he had been drinking heavily and had spent time with prostitutes in the hours leading up to the incident.
Authorities have since charged five individuals in connection to Payne’s death, including two hotel employees who were accused of supplying him with drugs.
Cassidy had been vacationing with the “What Makes You Beautiful” singer in Buenos Aires just weeks before his passing. She later revealed that Payne struggled emotionally when she left, as he had wanted her to stay.
In February, Cassidy told the US Sun that they had traveled “separately” and that she had left Argentina to take care of their dog in Florida.
The couple, who began dating in 2022, had plans to get married.
