Evtec Automotive Spends 25 Years Perfecting Every Component

Subassembly Production Relies on International Material Sourcing (Evtec Automotive)

Evtec Automotive, a specialist in electric vehicle parts supply, has outlined the logistics required to support a vehicle’s typical 25-year lifecycle. Manufacturers begin needing components at least two years before “Job 1,” the first vehicle off the production line.

After a vehicle is launched, components are necessary for both production and aftermarket sales, with dealerships and independent garages requiring spare parts for repairs and maintenance. Typically, vehicles receive spare parts and tooling support for 15 years post-production.

Evtec Pioneers Support for Electric Vehicle Growth (Evtec Automotive)

Coventry-based Tier 1 supplier Evtec, relaunched in 2021 under new management with Chairperson David Roberts, emphasizes an ethical and sustainable business model.

The company produces over 250,000 components monthly across 156 active production assemblies and 450 aftermarket kits. Additionally, 700 assemblies are available from stock and the supply chain, ready for production on demand.

Each subassembly involves extensive bills of materials sourced globally, often requiring custom tooling unique to each vehicle part. For instance, battery cooling systems need precisely crafted pipework that intricately navigates through the vehicle’s compact powertrain. Evtec’s focus on supporting the electric vehicle sector highlights its commitment to the industry’s future.
