Rapper and actor Kid Cudi, born Scott Mescudi, is expected to testify in the ongoing sex trafficking and racketeering trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs. His testimony is expected to focus on a brief relationship he had with R&B singer Cassie, Diddy’s former girlfriend, around 2011. Prosecutors allege that Diddy was so enraged by the relationship that he orchestrated the firebombing of Cudi’s convertible. Although the exact timing of his testimony is not confirmed, prosecutors stated it won’t take place before Thursday.
Agent Testifies on Drug Evidence as Cassie Details Abuse and Secret Relationship
While awaiting Cudi’s testimony, federal Homeland Security Agent Gerard Gannon resumed his account of a raid conducted on Combs’ Florida residence in March 2024. Jurors were shown a Gucci bag allegedly found in Combs’ home that contained drugs, including cocaine. These findings are being used to build the prosecution’s case that Combs operated a racketeering enterprise. However, Combs has pleaded not guilty, claiming the incidents being detailed are related to domestic violence, not organized criminal activity.

Cassie, who testified the week before, described her turbulent relationship with Combs, which allegedly included physical abuse and manipulation. She stated that during a breakup in 2011, she started dating Kid Cudi and kept the relationship secret using a burner phone. Cassie testified that Combs became violent after discovering her communications with Cudi and claimed that he had physically assaulted her, leaving a large bruise after kicking her as she left his Los Angeles home for the last time.
Cassie and Her Mother Describe Threats, Extortion, and Violence Tied to Diddy’s Rage
Cassie and her mother, Regina Ventura, both testified about threats allegedly made by Combs after learning about her relationship with Cudi. Ventura said she received an email from Cassie in December 2011 warning that Combs intended to release explicit videos of Cassie and send someone to harm both her and Cudi. According to Ventura, Combs then demanded $20,000, which she sent in fear for her daughter’s safety, only for the money to be returned days later.
Cassie also revealed that Cudi visited her at her mother’s home in Connecticut during Christmas 2011, but that she ended the relationship due to fear of what might happen. She later resumed her relationship with Combs in Arizona. Cassie testified that while they were abroad, Combs said he would have Cudi’s car blown up and wanted his friends to witness it. This alleged threat aligns with the prosecution’s claim that Combs used threats, violence, and intimidation to control those around him, a central element in the case now unfolding in court.
