George Gray, the announcer for The Price Is Right, and his wife, Brittney Green, have decided to end their marriage after five years.
According to court records, Gray, 57, filed for divorce on Tuesday, January 21. The couple, who had been married for over five years, do not have any children together.
In the divorce filing, Gray listed their separation date as August 1, 2024, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the breakup. Gray and Green, a high school math teacher, got married in April 2019 at The Westin La Paloma Resort in Tucson, Arizona. The ceremony was officiated by Gray’s brother.
Just a year into their marriage, Gray faced a near-death experience after suffering a heart attack in April 2020. He recalled the intense moment, saying, “It was like tons of bricks hit me. Turns out I was 100 percent blocked on the right side of my heart,” Gray shared five months after his first surgery.
He was rushed to the hospital and underwent two emergency surgeries to clear the blocked arteries. While preparing for an open-heart surgery, he had another heart attack. Gray continued, “So I have stints and a quadruple bypass on top of that.”
Although Gray faced multiple surgeries, Green was equally concerned about his health. “After the second [heart attack], I thought he was gone in surgery,” Green told in 2020. “I was like, ‘Something could happen.’”
Five months later, Gray returned to The Price Is Right as an announcer, celebrating his 10th year with the game show. He first appeared as a guest announcer in 2010 before becoming the full-time announcer in 2015 during season 44.
In addition to The Price Is Right, Gray is also the announcer for The Price Is Right at Night. He has previously hosted The Weakest Link, HGTV Showdown, and Gimme My Reality Show!
While Green supported Gray during his health struggles, their marriage seemed to deteriorate over time. Gray’s last social media post mentioning his wife was in April 2024, when he shared a video from The Price Is Right set and mentioned attending a Grouplove concert with Green earlier that month.
In his post, Gray expressed his appreciation for the band, saying, “My wife Brittney is a huuuge fan of @grouplove and we saw them at the historic @thewiltern in LA … Amazing!”
He went on to mention that Green had asked the band about their favorite game show during a pre-concert VIP event. Gray also invited the band to visit The Price Is Right set, as the band had mentioned that the show was one of their favorites.
Meanwhile, Green keeps her Instagram account private and still has a link to Gray’s heart attack and recovery story in her bio.
