You, Me & Her, an R-rated indie romantic comedy, will mark the debut of the Attend direct distribution platform recently introduced by The Fithian Group. Distributed by Two Hands Productions, the film is set for a nationwide release on February 14, 2025. Alongside the announcement, the movie has also unveiled its first trailer.
Attend is an experimental digital and marketing platform created by The Fithian Group to connect producers and filmmakers directly with theaters, bypassing the need for traditional distributors. Its primary aim is to democratize theatrical distribution and enable more films to secure widespread cinema releases.
The initiative has garnered support from several prominent filmmakers, including Sean Baker, Steven Soderbergh, Damien Chazelle, and Patty Jenkins, all of whom have endorsed it in a signed statement. The Fithian Group was founded in 2023 by National Association of Theatre Owners executives John Fithian, Patrick Corcoran, and Jackie Brenneman.
The story of You, Me & Her centers on Mags and Ash, a married couple stuck in a cycle of arguments and compromises that have left them both longing for more.
On their first vacation alone since becoming parents, their relationship is strained further by heated disagreements — until they encounter Angela, a free-spirited digital nomad.
Angela’s carefree nature reignites something in Mags, reminding her of a side of herself she hasn’t embraced in years: fun and adventurous. Intrigued by Angela, the couple begins to consider the possibility of a threesome, but they quickly discover it’s far more complex than they imagined.
The film was directed by Dan Levy Dagerman and written by Selina Ringel, who also stars alongside Ritesh Rajan and Sydney Park.
Attend offers filmmakers the opportunity to upload film details and promotional materials to its platform, creating a searchable database for exhibitors seeking new programming options. The platform also assists with logistics to streamline getting these films into theaters.
“The chance to experiment and collaborate directly with theater owners on the marketing and release of our film feels like a reflection of the movie’s themes,” Ringel said in a statement. “We’re discovering the movie’s potential hand in hand with the people bringing it to audiences.”
Jackie Brenneman of The Fithian Group added, “The release of You, Me & Her’s trailer is another significant step in realizing our vision for an online distribution marketplace. We are learning about the opportunities and challenges faced by exhibitors, filmmakers, and marketers, which we aim to address with Attend.”
