The new film, “The Hedgehogs,” co-written with Fabian Casas, delves into the lives of a couple contemplating separation after a decade of marriage. They plan a final family trip to the coast to break the news to their young son.

In an off-season beach town, they are welcomed by a caretaker, his dog Rita, and a couple that stirs memories of their earlier years together. As they engage in beachside activities and face the impending storm, their search for the missing dog symbolizes their underlying anxieties about their crumbling relationship.

The cast includes Esteban Bigliardi, Pilar Gamboa, and Laura Paredes. The film examines the intricacies of ending a long-term relationship and the emotional struggle involved in such a profound change.

Produced by Tarea Fina, a company founded by Juan Pablo Miller in 2009, known for acclaimed works like “Las Acacias” and “El llanto,” the film is also co-produced by Uruguay’s Cinekdoque, founded by Federico Veiroj, renowned for “La vida util” and “Acne.” Miller, Veiroj, and Marcela Avalos are the producers, with filming scheduled to take place in March and April of the coming year.
