Mukerji, renowned for her diverse roles in films such as “Black,” “Hichki,” and “Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway,” has been a Bollywood presence since the late 1990s.

However, Johar, who launched his directing career with the celebrated film “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” in 1998, has become a key figure in Indian cinema as a director, producer, and media personality. This film, featuring Mukerji, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Salman Khan, was instrumental in establishing Johar’s influential career.

Mukerji expressed her pride, stating, “Representing the Indian film fraternity at the Australian Parliament House is a honor. I look forward to discussing the rich cinematic legacy we offer and the strengthening cultural bonds between Australia and India through film.”

Johar added, “Being invited to speak at the Australian Parliament House is a profound honor. It reflects the growing global impact of Indian cinema, and I’m grateful for this opportunity to represent our vibrant storytelling tradition.”

The keynote is anticipated to attract members of parliament, ministers, and other dignitaries. IFFM festival director Mitu Bhowmik Lange remarked on the festival’s milestone, noting the importance of having Mukerji and Johar as keynote speakers for its 15th year.
