Aaron Wan-Bissaka Joins West Ham in £15 Million Deal, Man United Transfer Completed

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (West Ham United)

Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s transfer from Manchester United to West Ham has been finalized for £15 million. After undergoing a medical with the Hammers, his signing is set to be officially announced soon.

With just one year left on his contract at Old Trafford, Wan-Bissaka’s move was delayed recently due to negotiations over salary adjustments for his new role in east London. Nevertheless, the deal was completed on Monday, ahead of the club’s Premier League opener.

This transfer is West Ham’s eighth acquisition of the summer as Julen Lopetegui, who took over as manager in May, continues to overhaul his squad. Wan-Bissaka, 26, made 160 appearances for United, including a victory in the FA Cup in May.

Arriving at Manchester United from Crystal Palace in a £50 million deal during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s tenure, Wan-Bissaka added domestic cup victories to his achievements. However, injuries and competition from Diogo Dalot limited his playtime under Erik ten Hag, with only 20 league starts in the 2023-24 season.

The defender joins a list of new arrivals at London Stadium, including Max Kilman, Niclas Fullkrug, Crysencio Summerville, Luis Guilherme, Wes Foderingham, and Guido Rodriguez. Additionally, French defender Jean-Clair Todibo has joined on loan from Nice, with an obligation for a permanent transfer next summer.

In response to Wan-Bissaka’s exit, Manchester United has quickly strengthened their defense by signing Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt in a £55.8 million deal. West Ham will kick off their Premier League campaign against Aston Villa at the London Stadium on Saturday.
