Elle King recently shared her strained relationship with her father, Rob Schneider, during an appearance on Bunnie XO’s “Dumb Blonde” podcast.

In a teaser clip posted on TikTok for the upcoming episode, set to air Monday, King voiced her disapproval of Schneider’s controversial remarks about drag and LGBTQ issues. “I strongly disagree with many of his opinions,” King said. “He’s spouting nonsense about drag and anti-gay rights. It’s completely frustrating.”

Earlier in July, Schneider criticized the Olympics opening ceremony on X (formerly Twitter), which featured a tableau he likened to a reinterpretation of Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper,” but with drag queens and vibrantly dressed performers instead of Jesus and his disciples. Schneider expressed his displeasure, stating, “I can’t support an Olympics that disrespects Christianity and celebrates Satan. I hope they receive minimal viewership.”

He further complained, “Men exposing themselves in front of children and drag queens? I felt like I was watching a school board meeting, not the Olympics.”

In the TikTok clip, King reflected on her distant relationship with Schneider during her childhood, noting that they only reconnected when she was much older. Her interactions with her father were limited to movie sets, where she often felt overlooked. “If I made a mistake or spoke out of turn, I’d be punished,” King recalled.

Tensions between them were exacerbated by her appearance, including her weight and tattoos. King recounted being sent to fat camp by her father and facing criticism for not losing weight after an injury. “I was also getting tattooed, and it was so hot that I had to cover them up because my dad disapproved of tattoos and self-expression.”

Schneider’s representative chose not to comment on the situation. King concluded that she has no desire to reconcile with her father, stating, “He’s just not a nice person. You can’t control someone else’s actions or feelings, only your own reactions and how you handle your emotions.”
