Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has announced that NBA star Kevin Durant has joined the club as a minority shareholder. Durant, who recently earned gold with Team USA at the 2024 Olympics, has invested several million dollars through Arctos Sports Partners. This American investment fund secured a 12.5% stake in PSG in 2023, with the club’s value estimated at $4.6 billion (€4.25 billion).

The purpose of Durant’s investment is to enhance PSG’s brand presence in the U.S., especially with major events like the 2025 Club World Cup and the 2026 World Cup coming up in America. At 35, Durant plays for the Phoenix Suns and has a keen interest in soccer, including part ownership of MLS team Philadelphia Union.

Durant’s connection with PSG goes beyond investment. He is a close associate of PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi and has visited the club’s facilities, including Parc des Princes and the Paris training ground, multiple times. Just recently, on August 6, he greeted players, staff, and head coach Luis Enrique at the Campus PSG.

The excitement surrounding Durant’s involvement is palpable, with sources indicating he is dedicated to making a meaningful impact at the club. His commitment to PSG underscores his serious approach to this new venture.
