Eight months into 2024, the automotive world continues to buzz with excitement as new car launches approach.

From Abarth to Zenvo, the lineup for the remainder of the year includes some highly anticipated models. This year’s offerings aren’t limited to electric vehicles; the roster features a range of exotic entries such as the £3.2 million Bugatti Tourbillon, the new Bentley Continental GT, and a compact electric hatchback from Alpine.

Several major brands are undergoing serious transformations, with Abarth set to debut its first hot crossover and Range Rover introducing its inaugural battery-electric vehicle.

Among the remarkable debuts is the Abarth 600e, an electric hot-hatch-crossover expected to feature the Fiat 500e’s 152bhp motor, distinctive paint options, and a robust chassis. With a Scorpion Track driving mode and an anticipated 0-62mph time of about 7.0 seconds, the 600e is set to impress.

Another exciting release is the AC Cobra GT Roadster, reimagining the classic Cobra with a 654bhp V8 engine and a carbon-fiber body. Starting at £285,000, it features a bespoke aluminium chassis designed by Icona Design Group and Cecomp, with production based in the UK.

The Aiways U5, though relatively unknown, has gained traction since its 2017 introduction. This family SUV, available in Europe for some time, offers a practical if not groundbreaking design.

Alpine’s A290, an electrified version of the Renault 5, promises enhanced power, torque vectoring, hydraulic bump stops, and A110 brakes, potentially marking it as a standout electric hot hatch.

Alpine’s GTX-Over, based on the Mégane’s platform, aims to compete with the Lotus Eletre and Polestar 3, featuring a dual-motor setup similar to Nissan’s e-4orce Ariya.

Ariel’s Nomad 2 builds on the success of the original, featuring a 2.3-litre turbocharged engine, a stiffer frame, and a minimalist off-road design.

The Audi A5, rebranded from the A4, showcases more angular headlights and a refined grille. The new model continues to offer a variety of petrol, diesel, mild-hybrid, and plug-in hybrid engines.

Audi’s A6 E-tron, an outstanding step in the brand’s electric journey, will offer up to 466 miles of range, rivaling the BMW i5.

Bentley’s Continental GT will transition from a W12 engine to a PHEV setup, incorporating elements from Porsche’s V8 system while maintaining its British luxury.

Bugatti’s Bolide, with a £3.4 million price tag and a staggering 1825bhp, pushes the limits of track performance. Meanwhile, the Bugatti Tourbillon, celebrating 115 years, will feature a plug-in hybrid V16 and aim to become the world’s fastest car.

BMW’s 1 Series will adopt a more angular design and drop diesel engines and manual gearboxes. The M5 Touring, a new estate version, will boast a V8 plug-in hybrid system with 790bhp.

The X3 will grow in size and offer more electrified engine options, including a 48-volt mild-hybrid and a range of petrol and diesel engines. The Neue Klasse electric iX3 will follow in 2026.

Chinese brand BYD introduces the Seal U, an SUV sibling to the Seal saloon, featuring both pure EV and plug-in hybrid options.

Cupra’s Leon will adopt a more purposeful look and extensive tech upgrades, aligning with newer models like the Born and Formentor. The Tavascan, a sportier MEB-based SUV, will offer a range of up to 340 miles.

Dacia’s Bigster, a rival to the Ford Kuga, will focus on affordability and share its platform with the Nissan X-Trail and Renault Austral. The Duster, now with hybrid power, promises improved refinement and capability.

DS’s 4 E-Tense, an electric version of the French hatchback, will share a platform with the Peugeot E-3008 and offer impressive range and power.

Ferrari’s first EV, featuring in-house batteries and motors, remains under wraps but has been praised by its CEO.

Fiat’s Panda will blend retro design with modern electric technology, while the Topolino pays homage to the 1950s with its unique design.

Ford’s Capri revives the iconic name with an electric crossover, offering up to 400 miles of range and competing with the Volvo C40. The E-Transit Courier and E-Transit Custom will bring updates to Ford’s van lineup.

Chinese brand Chery’s Jaecoo 7, set to compete with the Hyundai Tucson, will feature plug-in hybrid powertrains. The Jeep Recon, an electric rival to the Land Rover Defender, will offer impressive performance and off-road capabilities.

Kia’s EV3 will begin the brand’s push into affordable EVs, featuring multiple powertrains and a range of up to 373 miles. The EV6 will receive a facelift, while Koenigsegg’s Gemera will offer a range of powerful engine options.

Maserati’s Granturismo Folgore, powered by three electric motors, promises remarkable performance. The Grancabrio, a convertible version, will offer similar powertrain options. The Grecale Folgore, part of Maserati’s push into EVs, will provide over 500bhp.

The Maybach EQS SUV, the brand’s first electric vehicle, aims to set new standards in luxury, with a spacious interior and improved performance.

Mercedes-AMG will introduce the CLE 63 and E63, featuring hybrid powertrains and serious performance upgrades. The GLC 63 will feature a plug-in hybrid system with impressive torque and acceleration.

MG’s Cyberster, an electric sports car, will offer up to 536bhp and a futuristic design. The Mini Aceman, an electric crossover, will sit between the Cooper and Countryman.

Nio’s EL6 will emphasize practicality with a large boot and a range of up to 300 miles, while the ET5 will compete with premium saloons like the BMW i4 and Tesla Model 3.

Nissan’s Ariya Nismo will bring high performance to the electric crossover market, with over 400bhp. The Omoda C5 will showcase Chery’s capabilities, providing strong competition in the UK market.

Peugeot’s e-408 and e-5008 will adopt Stellantis’s electric technology, offering various powertrain options and impressive ranges. The e-Rifter will also receive styling and tech updates.

The Polestar 3 and 4 will continue to build on the brand’s electric success, offering powerful drivetrains and advanced technology. The Range Rover Electric represents a remarkable milestone in JLR’s electrification strategy.

Renault will revive the 4 as a retro crossover and introduce the Symbioz, a new model in the crossover range. The Seres 3 will be the most affordable electric SUV in the UK, while the Smart #3 will compete with the Volkswagen ID 5.

Subaru’s Forester and Toyota’s Supra ‘GRMN’ will also feature prominently in the upcoming year.
