Dacia has introduced a budget-friendly ‘superleggera’ variant of its economical city electric vehicle, priced just shy of £15,000. This new model, known as the Dacia Spring ‘Cargo,’ is essentially a van.
Designed without rear seating, the Spring Cargo features a mesh bulkhead and is available with only one powertrain option. Its simplistic design includes white paint, steel wheels, and basic parking sensors, making it a practical little workhorse for various tasks.
According to Dacia, the Spring Cargo holds the title of the UK’s most affordable compact electric van, retailing at £14,995 after applying the plug-in van grant. For businesses, it can be leased for £149 per month, excluding VAT, while providing a generous 1,085 liters of load capacity due to the removal of the back seats.
The vehicle boasts a claimed payload of 370 kilograms and a turning radius of 4.8 meters, along with all the features found in the passenger version of the Dacia Spring. Equipped with a 26.8 kWh battery, it drives a 65bhp electric motor, offering an impressive range of up to 186 miles. Dacia estimates that it can be fast-charged from 20 to 80 percent in just 45 minutes, making it a practical choice for urban deliveries.
