Who Will Step in as Raiders’ Interim Offensive Coordinator After Getsy’s Departure?

On Sunday night, a huge change occurred that many fans had been eagerly anticipating, as the Raiders released offensive coordinator Luke Getsy after only nine games.

Tom Pelissero from NFL Network reported that Getsy was let go following yet another embarrassing defeat for Las Vegas, this time against the Cincinnati Bengals earlier that day.

After the loss to Cincinnati, head coach Antonio Pierce emphasized the need for changes, confirming that Getsy’s departure is at least one adjustment the team will implement during their bye week.

“Today wasn’t a good day in the office,” Pierce remarked. “We’ve got the bye week to reset. You look at everything. And when I say everything, I mean everything.”

Now, the Raiders must find a long-term replacement for the role as they prepare for the future in 2025 and beyond. However, with eight games remaining this season, they need to appoint an interim offensive coordinator in the meantime.

One name that has emerged as a potential successor to Getsy is passing-game coordinator Scott Turner. According to Pelissero, Turner is considered the “logical candidate” to fill the interim position.

Having been hired by the Raiders in 2023, Turner has remained part of Pierce’s coaching staff since he took over. He also brings prior experience as an offensive coordinator, a position he held with the Washington Commanders from 2020 to 2022.
