Pricing details have been discloed for the AMG variant of the newly redesigned E-class sedan from Mercedes. The 2025 Mercedes-AMG E53 makes a comeback after skipping the 2024 model year due to the transition of the Benz-branded lineup to the W214 generation. This model features a plug-in hybrid powertrain and starts at $89,150, reflecting a $6,700 increase from its predecessor.
In terms of features, the E53 benefits from all the enhancements of the new E-class, including a specially tuned 4Matic all-wheel-drive system, an AMG-specific adaptive suspension, and rear-wheel steering as standard. Additional appealing features include an illuminated grille, a 14.4-inch touchscreen equipped with the latest MBUX infotainment system, and a panoramic sunroof.
The E53 offers various higher-spec trim levels, which come with additional features at a higher price point. Starting at $91,600, the Exclusive model enhances the sedan with advanced headlights, dynamic ambient interior lighting, a 4-D Burmester sound system, and improved insulation against outside heat and noise.
The Pinnacle model, the most luxurious trim, adds features such as a head-up display, four-zone climate control, and an MBUX AI voice assistant, along with exterior lights that project interesting designs.
Customers can choose from 12 different paint colors for the E53, including exclusive Manufaktur options. Various wheel designs are available in 20- and 21-inch sizes, along with three exterior design packages: AMG Night, AMG Night Plus, and AMG Exterior Carbon Fiber. The interior can be customized with either leatherette or nappa leather upholstery, and options include the AMG Performance Seat package and the expansive MBUX Superscreen.
Earlier this year, Mercedes introduced the 2025 Mercedes-AMG E53, which is powered by a plug-in hybrid system that combines an electric motor with a turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six engine. The combined output reaches 577 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque, while the peak horsepower increases to 604 in Race Start mode, available through the AMG Dynamic Plus package.
This package also includes upgraded front brakes with larger 15.4-inch composite rotors, adaptive engine mounts, an electronic limited-slip differential, and a top-speed increase from 155 to 174 mph.
Additionally, it claims a reduction in zero-to-60 mph time from 3.9 to 3.7 seconds. Mercedes anticipates that the new AMG E53 will arrive at dealerships shortly. The model boasts EPA estimates of 59 MPGe combined and an electric driving range of 42 miles.
