Brody King Discusses ‘Conniving’ Don Callis in Recent AEW Interview

After distancing himself from former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega last year, Don Callis has created an entirely new faction known as The Don Callis Family. Many of its members have achieved championship success under his guidance, while others have betrayed those close to them in pursuit of their own ambitions, eventually benefiting the family as a whole.

Brody King, a former AEW Trios Champion, shared his insights on Callis’ leadership style during a conversation on “Sportskeeda WrestleBinge.” King described Callis as “conniving” and a “snake,” noting that he is willing to do whatever it takes to win.

“You can’t fault him for that, I guess,” he remarked, highlighting the danger posed by Callis and his group. He added that some members might feel trapped within the faction, referencing Will Ospreay, who appears to be under contract despite his reluctance to remain under Callis’ influence. King suggested that Don has a knack for exploiting those in need of opportunities for his own gain.

Currently, The Don Callis Family includes prominent figures such as Kyle Fletcher, AEW International Champion Konosuke Takeshita, ROH Television Champion Brian Cage, and the formidable Lance Archer, known as the “Murderhawk Monster.”

Trent Beretta and Powerhouse Hobbs were also part of the group during their last appearances on AEW television, although Hobbs is uncertain about his status upon his return.

Will Ospreay opted to leave the faction earlier in the summer, a choice that later led to complications when Fletcher attacked him with a screwdriver at AEW WrestleDream. Fortunately for King and his fellow House of Black members, they have managed to largely avoid Callis’ “conniving” schemes.
