The year 2023 in WWE left many wrestling fans questioning who was truly steering the creative direction of the organization. Despite Triple H being a key figure in the promotion’s creative process, uncertainty lingered regarding whether he or Vince McMahon held the reins, especially after McMahon’s unexpected return following his retirement in July 2022.
His involvement in shaping the show’s direction seemed to increase after the merger announcement between WWE and Endeavor in April 2023.
During a recent episode of “Kliq This,” Kevin Nash shared some intriguing insights about Triple H and his potential impact on WWE’s trajectory. He suggested that if it weren’t for Janel Grant’s lawsuit accusing McMahon of sex trafficking and abuse, the current vision for WWE might have uncovered differently.
Nash remarked, “Vince almost tried to kibosh it, and, you know, they went through all that s**t again. I think at that point, if it wouldn’t have gone the way it did, I believe Paul would have walked. Steph already had.”
Although Nash did not explicitly state that Triple H had shared this information with him directly, he firmly believed that WWE’s Chief Content Officer might have exited the company had McMahon continued to play an active role.
“I have a feeling,” Nash continued. “We never had that conversation, but I know Paul. I just think it was like ‘F**k, man.’ But I’ve talked to Paul about some other matters, and I have some insights that gave me confidence when I learned how Endeavor feels about Paul.”
