Having built a reputation as one of the most contentious figures on the WWE roster, “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio has made headlines for everything from provoking his father before Wrestlemania 39 to betraying Rhea Ripley at SummerSlam 2024.
In a recent conversation on Foundation Radio, Mysterio stirred the pot further by criticizing CM Punk, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and the rising trend of comebacks among WWE legends. “Honestly, the last time I saw CM Punk, I was about eleven years old,” Mysterio remarked.
“He thought he was a big shot for singing Happy Birthday to my loser sister. I’d love to see him now. Back then, I was my dad’s height—about 5 foot 5 or 5 foot 2. Now, I’m 6 foot 1, weighing 200 pounds. I’ve seen [Punk] wrestle… so let’s see what you’ve got, old man.”
While Punk and Mysterio have faced off in a number of dark matches during Punk’s current WWE stint, they have yet to compete in a televised match, although Punk hasn’t dismissed the possibility.
The hosts of Foundation Radio also questioned Mysterio about his previous comments regarding Johnson, including a remark where he stated that “The Mummy 2” was the only worthwhile project Johnson had done. When asked if he was concerned about a potential backlash from Johnson, Mysterio responded assertively.
“Honestly, I’m just exhausted by these older guys who think they can still compete with this younger generation. At the end of the day, I’m my own person, and I’m the greatest Mysterio of all time. If these veterans want to come back and get it, they can.
CM Punk, The Rock? It doesn’t matter. They’re just jealous because they’re bald, while I have the best hair and mustache in the business.” As of now, Johnson has not publicly addressed Mysterio’s remarks.
