Currently, the Tennessee Titans find themselves in a less than desirable position. With a record of 1-4, they have yet to demonstrate the consistency needed for success. This inconsistency contributed to the decision to release former Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams, who joined the Titans as a free agent this offseason.
Insider Adam Schefter reported that the Titans granted Adams’ request on Thursday, allowing him to pursue opportunities with other teams. At 29 years old, Adams is aiming for a Super Bowl, and the Titans appear far from contention at this point.
As a former All-Pro, he is likely seeking to join a more competitive team. It will be intriguing to see how many teams express interest in the former LSU star. Since 2018, he has not completed a full season and has not appeared in more than 10 games since 2021.
His most impressive season came in 2018, during which he recorded 115 total tackles, 12 pass deflections, and three forced fumbles. Schefter’s report also highlighted that Adams is now fully healthy, which could enhance his chances of joining a top-tier team that values his skills.
While primarily a safety, Adams has showcased his ability to play in various defensive roles, including stepping into the box during his time in Seattle. His versatility and experience could prove to be advantages for whichever team he joins next.
