From Porsche 911 to 900-HP Hypercar: A Stunning Transformation

RML Group, a British engineering firm behind creations like the Nissan Juke-R and street-legal Aston Martin Vulcan, has uncovered its latest project. Their new offering, the P39 40th Special Edition, builds on the 992.1-generation Porsche 911 Turbo S, transforming it into an elite high-performance machine.

This modified version of the Turbo S features a slightly longer wheelbase, Le Mans-inspired carbon fiber bodywork, and a power boost. RML upgraded the engine with enhanced turbochargers, advanced intercoolers, refined manifolds, an Inconel exhaust system, and a custom ECU. These modifications push the 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine’s output from 640 to 900 horsepower, while torque jumps from the stock figure by 148 lb-ft, reaching a total of 738 lb-ft.

The P39 40SE is designed for speed and agility, with RML claiming it laps the Nürburgring Nordschleife four seconds faster than a Porsche 911 GT3 RS. It also outperforms the standard Turbo S in acceleration, reaching 60 mph 0.2 seconds quicker and hitting 100 mph 0.8 seconds sooner. Despite these improvements, its top speed remains capped at 205 mph.

Further enhancements include a longer wheelbase by nearly an inch and a wider track, expanded by 3.9 inches both front and rear. The carbon fiber bodywork features active aerodynamics and a driver-controlled drag reduction system.

In Track Mode, the car generates up to 1,460 pounds of downforce at 150 mph and 2,035 pounds at 177 mph—far exceeding the Turbo S. Meanwhile, Tour Mode adjusts the ride height and softens the suspension for smoother cruising.

RML revamped the interior with sports seats fitted with four-point harnesses, replacing the rear seats with a half roll cage for added safety and performance. The upgrade package for the P39 costs £495,000 (about $643,722), excluding the donor Turbo S. RML offers assistance in sourcing the base car, and only 10 units will be produced, each available in an exclusive Ruby Red color specific to the 40th Special Edition.
