Drama seems to be a constant for the Las Vegas Raiders as they steer yet another challenging scenario regarding trade offers for Davante Adams. Reports indicate that the star wide receiver is leaning toward a trade, a development that has felt inevitable following a couple of disappointing seasons.
Although he is currently managing a hamstring injury, this setback is unlikely to dissuade teams in need of a receiver from pursuing him and making offers. The New York Jets have emerged as the most prominent team interested in acquiring Adams, having shown persistent interest over time.
As the NFL heads into Week 6, the Raiders have yet to receive an offer that meets their asking price, but interest remains strong despite Las Vegas’ demands, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic.
“[The] Jets and Raiders remain active in trade talks for Davante Adams,” Russini stated, as reported by Paul Andrew Edsen of The Score 1260. Russini noted that the Raiders are holding firm on their demand for a second-round draft pick while also expecting the acquiring team to cover Adams’ full salary for the remainder of 2024.
While New York appears to be the most probable destination, the Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers, and New Orleans Saints are also reportedly interested. If the Raiders maintain their trade requirements, discussions could extend all the way to the NFL trade deadline on November 5, following the conclusion of Week 9.
