Week 6 has seen significant attention surrounding the New York Jets following their decision to part ways with head coach Robert Saleh after a loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5. Owner Woody Johnson appeared to be frustrated with the team’s performance and opted to let go of Saleh, who struggled to get the team functioning effectively on both offense and defense.
Despite the Jets boasting a strong defense in the 2024 NFL season, their offense has been underwhelming, even with Aaron Rodgers at the helm. Although the veteran quarterback has displayed flashes of brilliance, recent weeks have revealed more struggles than successes.
Rodgers is currently contending with an ankle injury sustained during the game against Minnesota, yet he managed to complete the match. New head coach Jeff Ulbrich noted that Rodgers seems to be moving well and is in good condition as they prepare for their Week 6 clash with the Buffalo Bills.
“[Rodgers] looks really good. He looks like Aaron, which is a fantastic thing,” Ulbrich stated, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN. Watching Rodgers go down on the field and limp off was alarming, but it seems he and the training staff have worked to ensure he won’t miss any game time.
While the four-time NFL MVP may not perform at the same level as in previous years, he has been effective when given sufficient time in the pocket. To secure a victory against the Bills, however, Rodgers will likely need to conjure up some of his trademark magic.
