Currently in London, the Minnesota Vikings face the possibility of major losses even if they secure a victory. A major setback hit Kevin O’Connell’s squad early in the second quarter.
As noted by The Purple Persuasion on X, Aaron Jones exited the game due to a hip injury and will not return. After leaving the field, he was evaluated in the medical tent but soon the team confirmed that he would be out for the remainder of the match.
Prior to his departure, Jones had been poised for a strong performance, having already accumulated 29 rushing yards on seven carries and a 24-yard reception.
Given his history of injuries over the last couple of seasons, this development warrants close monitoring. Interestingly, the offense didn’t seem to falter much without him.
The Vikings successfully drove down the field to score another touchdown, with fullback C.J. Ham plunging in from two yards out to extend their lead to 17-0.
With Jones sidelined, the Vikings are likely to rely heavily on Ty Chandler to handle the majority of the carries. While he may not replicate Jones’ performance, he has previously been trusted with similar responsibilities.
Fingers crossed that this injury isn’t serious and Jones won’t miss any more time beyond this week, especially considering his efficiency this season.
